The Best Spring Makeup looks for 2016!

The Best Spring Makeup looks for 2016!

Candy colours, glitter and pearls, twists and plaits, the ‘downtown party girl’ is here for spring summer 2016!! Weather your a staple black eyeliner girl or never without your red lippy, theres something for everyone this season. I have picked out my favourite makeup trends for this spring and an explanation of how they can be adapted for the every day girl on the go. Wether you are colour shy or not, theres something here thats sure to tickle your fancy and get you digging out that old electric blue eyeliner 🙂

Dig out those coloured eyeliners that you brought but have never worn, electric eyes are back! Backstage at Hugo Boss we saw slicks of blue on bare clean faces. This is the best and easiest way to wear a bright neon colour, with nothing else. It makes that colour the statement and doesn’t look too busy with other colours on the face. If you are a little bit colour shy then try just using a bright colour as a thin eyeliner rather than all over the lid. Or even just a little pop of colour in the outer corner of the eye to add some fun into your makeup look. I love MAC Chromagraphic eye pencil in High-Def Cyan (below)

Next up in my favourite spring makeup looks is all about those lips. This one is for the red lovers, pink addicts and anyone who loves a pout with pop. Any texture goes, glossy mattes or satins they are all in this season. I am loving this gorgeous ice-lolly lip from Dolce & Gabbana (below).

To make a bright lip work for your everyday look try using an all in one chunky lip crayon. Is easy to use and you don’t have to be Picasso to draw around your lip line. Just like using a big crayon. Add gloss on top for summery smackers. Try Nars lip crayon in Dragon Girl (below)

Next up in my favourite spring looks is the disco dolly! Think studio 54, this look is not just for the dance floor though it can also be adapted for the school run. Adding a little sparkle, shimmer, glitter or highlight into your spring makeup will brighten up that wintery complexion. A little bit of inspiration can be found at Ashish (below) where little multi coloured sequins were glued onto the eyelids using eyelash adhesive.

If your new to wearing glitter and half afraid of looking like a christmas decoration then try MAC reflects glitter. So easy to use and no need for any adhesive. Simply dap a tiny bit straight onto your eyes over the top of eye makeup or just on to bare lids and the super fine glitter will add a little hint of sparkle. Comes in a whole line of various colours, my favourite is Reflects Transparent Teal which shines with a subtle tone of turquoise. (below)

Last up in my favourite makeup looks for this spring/summer season is all about the lash. Now i’m not talking about big thick forests of lash extensions which we see all over instagram, i’m talking about long lengths of groomed beautiful lashes, fluffy and feathery and even fine. See the amazing lashes created at Marni (below) If you weren’t blessed with natural long lashes then that is absolutely fine, this trend isn’t about big thick fakes its about making the eyelashes beautiful…adding a few individual hairs here and there or just half lashes to the corner of your eyes is what we want to see more of.

I am bit lazy when it comes to applying false lashes, I prefer to use a really good eyelash curler and great mascara. So if your not one for applying them either then try the eyelash curler and mascara both from Kevin Aucoin. The Volume mascara has a really small brush to catch each tiny lash and add great length and volume. (below)
